Snorkeling

Snorkelling is the process of swimming on or through a entire body of water while outfitted with a designed tube known as a snorkel, and generally swim fins. Four varieties of bill fish are seen around the islands. Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Yellow fin Tuna, Dogtooth Tuna and Dorado have been caught in Andamans and its surrounding waters, and the fishing community's firm catch-and-release policy helps ensure that future generations will have the opportunity to test themselves against these magnificent fishes.

Island Trekking

Trekking is one of the most sought-after adventure sport in the Andaman and Nicobar islands. It is also called as 'backpacking' or 'bushwalking' or 'stramping'. For adventure lovers Chidia Tapu has a little more to offer. A trekking trail, which passes through forest and beautiful coast line to reach the Kala Pahad(Black Mountain). The trail starts at the shore of Chidiya Tapu beach and moves up passing through dense forest. It’s advisable to take a guide or travel in groups.

Scuba Diving

These islands are covered with thick tropical forests supporting numerous species of plants and animals. The region is a suitable location for several water sports like parasailing, wind surfing and snorkelling, drawing adventure lovers from all parts of the world. Various Port Blair scuba diving expeditions are offered as part of exciting and informative courses in the field. Though the archipelago is accessible all around the year, the monsoon puts limitations on various activities. The season usually hits in May and lasts till mid September, so the best time to go for scuba diving in Port Blair is from October to March.
